Efficient use of existing infrastructure for state-of-the-art biotech applications
Problem definition
A new plant for the production of messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) and for the formulation of mRNA in lipoprotein nanoparticles (LNP) is to be built at the site. The challenge was to carry out the planning and implementation within an existing building – using existing plant components and taking into account changed process steps and a higher degree of automation.
Our solution
As part of the detailed planning, the existing plant was completely dismantled and rebuilt using selected components. The new process control, the increased degree of automation, and the adaptation to the changed requirements were optimally integrated into the existing structure.
